About the Tour

Some historians say that Sardinia is none other than the mythical Atlantis. Easy to believe: it is a spectacular island full of treasures, and its oldest structures — the mysterious stone towers known as “nuraghe” — date back more than 3,500 years, long before Rome was even a village.

But Sardinia has another claim to fame that matters to us: it is home to some of the finest driving roads in the world. The SS125, running along the island’s dramatic eastern coastline, has been called one of the best driving roads on the planet — and we drive it. Miles of perfectly paved, flowing asphalt carved through granite mountains, with glimpses of that impossible emerald sea between the turns. No traffic cameras, no roundabouts, no lorries. Just the road, your open-top sports car, and the kind of scenery that makes you forget to watch your mirrors.

Sardinia is also famous for its coastline — the Emerald Coast in the north rivals anything the Mediterranean has to offer — and for a cuisine and wine culture entirely its own, shaped by centuries of isolation from the Italian mainland. The food here does not taste like the rest of Italy. Neither do the wines.

The local dialect tells you everything about the island’s character: full of Spanish and Arabic words, it is totally incomprehensible to any other Italian. Sardinians have been conquered many times over the centuries — by Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans, Spaniards, and more — but never really subdued. That independence runs deep, and you feel it in the people, the food, the roads, and the landscape.

This is not a tour of cathedrals and museums. It is a guided driving tour of one of Europe’s last genuinely wild places, experienced the way it deserves to be — with the top down, at the wheel of a convertible roadster, on roads most travelers never find.

This 2027 tour departs from Milan and includes an extra day compared to the 2026 edition. If you are interested in the Rome-based 2026 tour: click here.
